Hey guys, got some great news today!
The Cook’s Nook was awarded Slow Food Austin’s scholarship to attend 2016 Chef’s Collaborative Summit in NYC in April! The 3 day conference brings together leadership in the Slow Food movement – chefs, farmers, investment professionals, writers – to discuss good, clean, and fair food issues. The scholarship covers the conference registration plus a stipend for lodging and airfare.
The conference schedule includes keynotes from Sen. Gillibrand, Jose Andres, Rick Bayless, and Jeff Tripician of Niman Ranch. There are breakout sessions on topics like wages & tipping, savoring food, dining audiences, food investment, good food as smart business, and mental health in kitchens. Additionally, there is time for visits to NYC kitchens for workshops and exploring. My hope is to visit Hot Bread Kitchen in Harlem or Brooklyn Food Works.
We’re excited to be a part of Slow Food Austin, and to attend such a great industry event. Can’t wait to return and tell everyone in Austin about growing innovation in our food ecosystem and how Slow Food principles contribute to innovative businesses and entrepreneurial thinking.
Thank you to Slow Food Austin for this opportunity!
