Dr Andrew Sumarsono

Dr. Andrew Sumarsono is a board-certified internal medicine physician and is the Texas Regional Medical Director at Devoted Health. In his role, he is responsible for the clinical strategy of Devoted Medical’s Transitions of Care Program. He acts as a liaison between Devoted Medical and the primary groups in Texas. Before joining Devoted, Dr. Sumarsono was an academic hospitalist at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center / Parkland Health, providing direct patient care to
hospitalized patients. His primary research areas were social determinants of health, heart failure, and randomized clinical trials. He has published extensively in journals such as the British Medical Journal, JAMA Internal Medicine, JAMA Cardiology, Circulation, and Journal of General Internal Medicine.

He is a peer reviewer for multiple journals and has completed an editorial fellowship with the Journal of Hospital Medicine. Dr. Sumarsono obtained his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of California – Los Angeles. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and received his Master of Public Health from the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health.
